Located near the historic town of Tarnagulla this 24 acre bush block is suitable for use as a weekend getaway, or for building a quiet secluded bush home. Water and electric power are not currently available but the block would provide a good opportunity to build an independent "off the grid" residence with tank-water and solar-electricity. (Buildings are subject to Shire approval.) Blocks of this size are scarce in rural areas and are an attractive alternative to the more common blocks of 40 acres and more. This block would be an ideal base if you are keen on gold prospecting in this "Golden Triangle" region, or for visiting the historic areas or just relaxing. For the occasional city visit, a 36 km (45 minutes) drive takes you to Bendigo via the Wimmera and Calder highways. The block is lightly covered by acacia bushes and trees of various sizes, providing partial shade in summer and protection from the wind all year. You don't have to go far into the block to be shielded from the sight and sound of the occasional passing vehicle. The block boundaries • The eastern boundary is formed by two well-maintained Government gravel roads, McDonald Road, merging onto Tarnagulla Road. These make it an easy three kilometre drive to the historic 'Golden Triangle' town of Tarnagulla. These roads allow easy all-weather access to the block and provide a quick exit if there is ever the threat of bushfire. • The western and northern boundaries of the block have light 'post and wire ' fencing, separating this block from open agricultural areas zoned as 'FZ- Farming." • The south boundary is an undeveloped country-lane reserve. The land south of the strip is zoned 'RCZ Rural Conservation.' This block is zoned as 'FZ– Farming' although there is no sign that farming has ever occurred here. The south side of the lane reserve has light 'post and wire' fencing so the reserve effectively adds to the 24 acre area of this block.
