Launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the new master plan for Expo City Dubai places the site of the former World Expo at the new centre of Dubais future. The city will cover a total of 3.5sqkm, embracing a gradual phased development that will adapt to evolving needs. Expo City will be home to more than 35, 000 residents and 40, 000 professionals. Expo Downtown The highly-dense Expo Downtown will extend from the metro station to Al Wasl, then on to Terra and the eastern edge of the site.
